Balance, equity and margin

The account strip describes the selected account, not the profit of one EA.

How it works

Balance and equity: Balance reflects realized account funds and balance operations. Equity includes the current account valuation and floating results as reported by the broker. Deposits, withdrawals and credit can affect comparisons.

Profit and loss: The floating profit/loss figure changes with open positions. Closed results belong in history. The account currency is shown beside amounts; USC and USD are different units and must not be treated as equal.

Margin used and available: Used margin is the collateral currently reserved by the broker. Available or free margin describes remaining capacity. Broker leverage, hedging rules, instrument settings and account credit can affect the calculation.

Margin level: Margin level is generally equity divided by used margin, multiplied by 100. If used margin is zero, a dash avoids reporting a misleading percentage. Broker stop-out thresholds are not defined by this display.

Freshness: Refresh updates account data. A disconnected or loading display may retain earlier values. Check connection and timestamps before interpreting a snapshot as current.
