Why was my trade not copied?
This tutorial shows how to investigate a trade that was not copied. We will use a real demo account failure, read the exact error, correct the lot size, and verify a new copied opening and closing.

1. Check the two terminals.
Open mrpc dot pro and go to your dashboard. In Your Terminals, filter for your demo accounts. Check the account numbers, broker servers, and Connected states. The master creates the original trade. The follower receives the copy.

Check the correct copier.
Find the matching pair under Active Trade Copiers. A paused copier is not actively copying new trades. Read the pause reason before resuming it. Expand the row to inspect both accounts and open their web traders. Our tutorial copier is paused again after testing.
- 0:54
2. Open this copier’s Results.
On the dashboard, scroll to Active Trade Copiers. Find the row with your master and follower account numbers. On the right side of that same row, click the blue Results button, immediately before Edit. Each copier has its own Results button. This opens Latest Trade Results for the selected pair.
- 1:15
Find the failed trade.
In Latest Trade Results, select Failed slash Errors. Search using the master ticket or symbol. This real test shows Failed to Open, an Open rejected message, and Insufficient Margin. The error concerns the follower account, even though the master order opened successfully.
- 1:36
Read the full error.
Expand the trade row. The opening timeline has no follower fill price, and the close section says the trade was never opened. The trace gives the underlying MetaTrader response: code ten thousand nineteen, Trade Retcode No Money. That means there was not enough money for the requested trade.
- 1:57
Compare the two volumes.
Now compare the volumes in the failed row. The master traded zero point zero one lots, but the copier requested one hundred lots on the follower. We deliberately used an oversized setting on these demo accounts to capture the failure. This is not a recommended lot size.
- 2:17
Check follower margin.
Open the follower web trader and check Margin Available. The balance on the master does not fund the follower. The follower has its own balance, leverage, and margin requirements. Here it has no open position from the rejected request, which agrees with the failed opening in Results.
- 2:38
3. Correct the sizing.
Return to Copier settings and open Risk Settings. Fixed lot means the value is the follower volume for every copied trade. Change it from one hundred to zero point zero one, leave the field so the edit is applied, then select Save changes. Confirm the row displays the new size.
- 2:59
If there is no matching result…
If you cannot find the trade, clear the Results search and status filters, then refresh. Check whether the copier was running when the master trade opened. Also inspect Trade Filters. Magic number, comment, trade side, and lot range can intentionally exclude a master trade. An excluded trade is different from a failed opening.
- 3:22
Check volume controls.
In Advanced Settings, review the minimum and maximum lot controls and contract alignment. The minimum option can raise a small calculated volume. The maximum option can reduce a large one. Contract alignment accounts for different contract sizes. Read these settings together with your sizing rule and the follower broker specifications.
- 3:46
If the diagnostic is different…
For a symbol problem, check the exact instrument available on the follower, including any broker suffix. For invalid volume, check its minimum, maximum, and lot step. If the error says the market is closed, check the follower symbol trading session. These are other diagnostic cases, not errors reproduced in this demo.
- 4:09
Reconcile before another attempt.
Before sending another trade, check the follower positions and history. A timeout or unclear result is a reason to reconcile the existing ticket first. Do not manually add a follower trade simply because a result is delayed. In this example the opening was explicitly rejected, and we closed the original master test trade.
- 4:33
Test with a new demo trade.
After saving the correction, confirm the copier is running and place one new, small demo trade on the master. We use a new order to test the new settings, rather than assuming that editing them replays the earlier failed trade. Review the account and volume before confirming.
- 4:52
Verify the follower position.
Open the follower web trader. This new zero point zero one lot EUR U S D buy is now visible. Compare the symbol, direction, and volume. Do not expect the master and follower ticket numbers to be identical: each account has its own ticket.
- 5:11
Confirm the copied opening.
Back in Results, choose Active Open. The new row links the master ticket to the follower ticket, shows a fill price and zero point zero one lots, and reports no errors. The recorded opening delay is for this individual test; it is not a promised execution time.
- 5:31
Verify the copied close.
Close the master demo position, then check that the follower position also disappears. In Results, refresh and select Closed. Search the new master ticket and expand its row. Both opening and closing prices are recorded, with no errors. Our test completed both sides of the copy.
- 5:53
Opening, modification or closing?
Failed slash Errors can include opening, modification, and closing errors. Failed to Open means that opening failed. A modification error concerns an update to an existing trade. A close error concerns closing it. Inspect the action timeline and current follower position before deciding what to do next.
- 6:16
Check the intended close behavior.
If the master closes but the follower stays open, inspect Strict close as well as Results. With this option enabled, the follower is not closed merely because the master closed. In our demonstration it is off, so the successful master closure was copied. Match the setting to the behavior you intend.
- 6:37
Keep the evidence.
If the cause remains unclear, keep the master and follower accounts, ticket, U T C time, exact error, and the relevant trace. The expanded Results row includes Copy JSON for diagnostic details. Share only the relevant record through your support channel, with credentials removed.
- 6:59
Your troubleshooting checklist.
Check the terminals and copier status. Find the trade in Results and read the action that failed. Correct the specific cause, reconcile existing positions, and verify a new demo trade. All test trades in this recording are closed, and the tutorial copier is paused again.
