1. Check the HTTP status code.
First, check the HTTP status code. HTTP status code two hundred means the API received the request and returned a response. Read the JSON body next. For another status code, read the HTTP error and its response body first.

2. Check error before continuing.
Second, inspect error. If it is not null, read error code and error message before using data. In the method guide, match the reported code to its explanation and next action. HTTP status code two hundred does not mean the connection succeeded.

For Connect Ex, a successful response returns data dot terminal instance Guid. Keep that terminal identifier for subsequent requests. The API key identifies your access; the terminal identifier identifies this connection. Use each connection method’s own response fields.

Login rejected: verify credentials.
If the broker rejects the login, check the account number, trading password, and exact server name. A correct password on the wrong broker server will still fail. For Connect, verify host and port. For Connect Proxy, also verify the proxy details.

Server unavailable: check the address.
If the broker server is not found, use its exact name or look it up with Get Broker Servers By Broker Name. If the server is unreachable, check the host, port, and connectivity. Correct the reported cause before trying again.

Timeout: check connection state.
A connection timeout means the connection is unresolved. Read Connect State before starting another connection attempt. If the terminal is still connecting, allow it to finish. If it failed, correct the reported problem before reconnecting.

Use the complete terminal id.
Here is a real subsequent Account Summary request with an invalid terminal identifier. It returned HTTP status code two hundred with an API error. Correct the I D using the complete terminal identifier from Connect Ex, then retry the read request.

Connection checks: one, two, three.
For connection methods, use three checks. First, the HTTP status code. Second, error code and error message. Third, the connection result and returned terminal identifier. Follow the selected method’s instructions, and disconnect the terminal when your application has finished.
